The blind Chinese activist who made a daring escape from house arrest to the US embassy in Beijing, is demanding that officials be punished for his persecution.<br /><br />Chen Guangcheng has blamed authorities in Shandong province for his alleged abuse and false imprisonment.<br /><br />Chen was first jailed in 2006 for four years for inciting a crowd to destroy property and cause disruption. Freed in 2010, he was then put under house arrest until his escape.<br /><br />Immediately after leaving the US embassy, Chen insisted that he be allowed to go to the US, a demand the Chinese authorities have cautiously handled.
