Hundreds of shipwrecks litter Nigeria's rivers and coast, causing environmental damage to marine life and fishing villages.<br /><br />The abandoned vessels are also being used in illegal oil smuggling but with former owners difficult to trace and a tangle of government bureaucracy, little is being done to clean up the mess.<br /> <br />Al Jazeera Yvonne Ndege has more from Lagos.
