About 10,000 people have been ordered to leave their homes in a suburb of Greek capital Athens as more than 70 wildfires continue to spread.<br /><br />A state of emergency has been declared in greater Athens while France and Italy are sending in aircraft to help crews battle the flames.<br />The fires are now very close to the historic suburb of Marathon, just northeast of the capital, and they are also threatening Pendeli, another suburb with a panoramic view of Athens. <br /><br />Al Jazeera's Barnaby Phillips has the latest.
