The Pakistani army is claiming a major breakthrough in its battle against the Taliban in South Waziristan.<br /><br />After days of fierce fighting, the military says it has seized control of Kotkai, said to be the hometown of Hakimullah Mehsud, the Pakistani Taliban leader.<br /><br />But in the shadow of military accomplishments, the fighting is forcing civilians to flee. More than 200,000 people have left their homes and still more are expected to follow.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Alan Fisher reports from Islamabad.
