Iranian authorities say the country's judiciary is still investigating the case of three Americans detained in July while hiking near the Iranian border.<br /><br />President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said the hikers "trampled the law" and "need to be punished."<br /><br />Al Jazeera spoke to Shon Meckfessel, a friend of the group who had planned to hike with them that fateful day.
