As a young woman in the German Democratic Republic, Ilse, now 79, watched in disbelief as the communists began to raise the Wall in Berlin.<br /><br />Her daughter, Dorothea, was to live for more than two decades in a divided country under communist control.<br /><br />After listening to the stories they have to tell, Dorothea's daughter Salome, wishes to experience the divisions that the Wall brought about just for a day.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's David Chater reports from Berlin on how three generations of Germans view the Wall.
