Hundreds of shocked residents in France's southern city of Toulouse came out on the streets to mourn the recent killings of seven locals.<br /><br />The French government has denied that failures by its intelligence services allowed the killings to be carried out by a lone gunman with known extremist views.<br /><br />Mohammed Merah, a French citizen of Algerian origin, was shot dead in a police raid on Thursday, but how he was able to access weapons and and launch three attacks has raised many questions.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Rory Challands reports from Toulouse.
