Two decades after the conflict started, the anniversary of the beginning of the Bosnian War is being remembered by the people of the region.<br />The siege of Sarajevo, the longest siege of a capital city in the history of modern warfare, was one of the defining events of the conflict.<br />Lasting nearly four years, the siege left 10,000 people dead, including 1,500 children.<br />Al Jazeera's Peter Sharp, who covered the war, returned to the city as its citizens prepared to mark the anniversary.
