Once hailed as a model for the country's economic development, the Afghan Milli Boot factory now risks bankruptcy.<br /><br />NATO commissioned the shoe manufacturer to produce boots for the Afghan army but, ahead of the 2014 NATO withdrawal from Afghanistan, the Afghan government is now making such decisions.<br /><br />In this case, it has chosen a cheaper deal abroad, overlooking the local producer. <br /><br />Business leaders however, say that this is not only due to cheaper options available outside the country, but also due to one of the country's most pressing issues: corruption.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Jennifer Glasse reports from Kabul.
