Aid agencies battling to rescue and treat thousands of people affected by a devastating earthquake in Haiti are finding their mission complicated by the scale of the destruction.<br /><br />Before the disaster struck, over 80 per cent of Haitians relied on funds sent from relatives living abroad.<br /><br />But now, even that is not possible, as banks and money-wiring services in Haiti have been reduced to ruins.<br /><br />From Port-au-Prince, Al Jazeera's Mike Kirsch reports on the quake victims who are now penniless and who are barely surviving off foreign aid.<br /><br />[January 18, 2010]
