Text messaging aids Haiti donations

Governments worldwide have pledged almost $1bn in aid to earthquake-stricken Haiti, with the biggest single contribution of $130m coming from the United States.<br /><br />Part of that has come from individuals giving money via text messages on their mobile phones.<br /><br />Over $27m has been raised so far from people in America donating by text messages to charities - including to the Yele Haiti Foundation, headed by Wyclef Jean, the Haitian-born musician.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Cath Turner reports from New York City on the drive for donations and the questions about where that money is going.
