Romania's President has agreed to host US interceptor missiles, as part of Washington's plan for a missile defence shield in Europe.<br /><br />President Traian Basescu said the plan was approved by the defence council. However, it still needs parliamentary approval.<br /><br />The move is likely to anger Moscow despite US and Romanian assurances that the missiles will not be aimed at them.<br /><br />The US scrapped a previous missile shield, based in Poland and the Czech Republic, which had angered Russia.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Erica Wood reports.
