For many Australians the beach is an important focus of daily life and around 70 per cent of the country's population lives on or near the coast.<br /><br />But rapid coastal erosion is threatening some of the country's most iconic beaches.<br /><br />Environmentalists say Australia's coast is becoming increasingly vulnerable as climate change brings higher tides and flooding. <br /><br />Kylie Grey reports from Sydney.
