An Islamic court in Nigeria has banned online discussion about limb amputation as a form of institutionalised punishment.<br /><br />The move comes after a civil-rights group in the country used social network sites such as Facebook and Twitter to debate the issue.<br /><br />The online forum was launched to to mark the tenth anniversary of the country's first sharia court-ordered amputation.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Yvonne Ndege reports from the northern Kaduna state, where the ongoing debate is heating up.<br /><br />[March 31, 2010]
