The ash cloud from a volcano in southern Iceland has held European skies hostage, grounding thousands of flights and leaving millions of passengers stranded for nearly a week.<br /><br />For the first time in days the southern skies off the coast of Iceland is free of ash.<br /><br />Experts say much less ash is coming out of the crater and much more lava is now flowing from the volcano, but it remains unpredictable.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's David Chater reports from near the erupting volcano at Eyjafjallajokull.
