Invented more than 60 years ago in post-war Japan, the humble instant noodle has become one of the world's most popular snacks.<br /><br />Last year more than 92 billion packets of instant noodles, an average of 15 servings for every person on the planet.<br /><br />But now noodle makers are casting their eyes at a more lucrative market. <br /><br />Al Jazeera's Gerald Tan reports from the World Instant Noodle Summit in Kuala Lumpur.
