Champs-Elysees avenue goes green

Falling food prices and increasing production costs have fueled one of the worst agricultural crises in decades.<br /><br />For two days, beginning on Sunday, the famous Parisian avenue, the Champs-Elysees, has been transformed into a giant fantasy garden with 150,000 plants - including 650 fully grown trees.<br /><br />Farm animals have been moved in to complete the surreal picture in the heart of the French capital, attracting lots of attention for the farming industry.<br /><br />The organisers say they hope showcasing farm production - from sheep breeding to crop growing - will remind people that France is Europe's agricultural powerhouse, and subsequently win popular support ahead of key EU negotiations.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Estelle Youssouffa reports from Paris.
