Taiwan is set to sign a free trade deal with China, in a move that will bring the two sides the closer than they have been in decades.<br /><br />Ma Ying-jeou, the island's president, believes it will pull the island out of the economic doldrums and help end its international isolation.<br /><br />The trade pact has been met with significant opposition, but as Al Jazeera's Steve Chao reports, Ma is determined to press on.
