A state of emergency is in place in parts of northeastern Brazil after floods triggered by days of heavy rains killed at least 41 people.<br /><br />The states of Pernambuco and Alagoas have been hit hardest as torrential rains pounded the areas.<br /><br />Rescue officials have said the death toll could rise as hundreds are still unaccounted for.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Gabriel Elizondo reports.
