Al Jazeera has learned of a face-to-face meeting between Hamid Karzai, the Afghan president, and a man who once tried to kill him.<br /><br />That man is the leader of the Haqqani network, described by the United States as one of the three main insurgent groups, alongside the Taliban and Al Qaeda.<br /><br />Sirajuddin Haqqani, who's group is based across the border, is said to have been accompanied by Pakistan's army chief and the head of its intelligence services.<br /><br />From Kabul Zeina Khodr reports.
