Afghanistan is hosting its first international conference in more than 30 years with officials from more than 60 countries.<br /><br />The aim of the meeting in Kabul, the capital, is to help the Afghan government become more independent from foreign forces and build a brighter future for the country.<br /><br />Bernard Kouchner, the French foreign minister, is among those officials attending the conference.<br /><br />In an interview with Al Jazeera's James Bays, Kouchner said that his country is in Afghanistan to deliver none other than what the Afghan people want.<br /><br />[July 19, 2010]
