More than 300 new fires have broken out in Russia, as the country's record-setting summer heat continues.<br /><br />At least 28 people have died and thousands have been evacuated.<br /><br />Army troops and volunteers have joined the more than 22,000 fire fighters battling the fires, but they face an uphill battle against Mother Nature.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Bhanu Batnager reports.
