France has condemned what it calls the 'excessive use of force' against protesters in Syria.<br /><br />Early Wednesday security forces killed six people after storming a mosque in the southern city of Daraa.<br /><br />People there say heavy gunfire and tear gas were used shortly after midnight.<br /><br />Some reports have put the death toll since the unrest began on Friday at more than 13.<br /><br />Omar al Saleh reports.
