Uruguay investigates alleged UN Haiti rape

Uruguay is investigating claims that four members of the Uruguayan contingent of the UN peacekeeping force in Haiti raped an 18-year-old Haitian boy.<br /><br />The country's defence minister said authorities would find out exactly what happened and that there would be tough action if the allegations are proved.<br /><br />However, there is already confusion over the investigations being conducted. <br /><br />A UN probe is said to have found "no intent at sexual assault". Yet the UN has stated that there have been no findings from any preliminary investigations. <br /><br />Opposition members in Uruguay told Al Jazeera that they were told there had been a preliminary report.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Teresa Bo reports from Montevideo.
