Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Turkish prime minister, says a controversial genocide bill passed by the French parliament is "racist".<br /><br />The proposed law makes it illegal to deny that the mass killings of Armenians in 1915 constituted genocide.<br /><br />Turkey says relations between the countries will be seriously affected if French President Nicolas Sarkozy signs it into law.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Anita McNaught reports from Turkey's main city, Istanbul.
