PLEASE NOTE: EDIT CONTAINS CONVERTED 4:3 MATERIAL<br/> <br />British adventurer Sarah Outen ran into trouble as she attempted a record-breaking solo row across the Pacific Ocean.<br/> <br />Her 6.4 metre rowing boat Gulliver was crippled by a tropical storm.<br/> <br />The vessel's being abandoned at sea.<br/> <br />Outen's being taken ashore for hospital checks after the Japanese Coast Guard came to her rescue.<br/> <br />The row across the Pacific was the latest leg of Outen's attempt to circle the globe by human power alone.<br/> <br />She'd hoped to row the whole 8, 334 kilometre distance.<br/> <br />The 26-year-old left her home country in April.<br/> <br />Since then she's travelled nearly 18, 000 kilometres through Europe, Central Asia, China, Russia and Japan by kayak, boat and bicycle.<br/> <br />Paul Chapman, Reuters
