These dogs are safe - for the moment at least.<br/> <br />But some of their four-legged friends in Kiev in the Ukraine haven't been so fortunate.<br/> <br />Dog lovers took to the streets on Saturday to protest against a cull of stray dogs by Kiev authorities in the run up to Euro 2012.<br/> <br />They called for a boycott of the football championships which Ukraine is co-hosting with Poland.<br/> <br />This protester says humans are more dangerous to each other than dogs and that many of the dogs could have been put in homes rather than killed.<br/> <br />Kiev is due to host its first game on Monday when the home team will play against Sweden and France meets England.<br/> <br />Sunita Rappai, Reuters
