ROUGH CUT ONLY - NO REPORTER NARRATION<br/> <br />Venice residents were amazed and frightened by a tornado-like spiral of wind that swept across the lagoon city on Tuesday (June 12).<br/> <br />The whirlwind, which according to experts was not quite at the magnitude of a tornado, was clearly seen spiraling across the waters of the city and captured on mobile phones by residents.<br/> <br />The worst hit areas were the outlying islands, where hundreds of trees were uprooted. On the island of Sant'Elena kiosks and restaurants were also damaged.<br/> <br />There were no reports of injuries.
