I am available as a private guide and can provide custom itinerairies, business facilitation, expatriation consulting, and more. Even if your French is fluent, you might need some guidance here.

The Rungis International Market is not far from Orly Airport, but both are well South of Paris. The market provides food and flowers to wholesalers in the Greater Paris region and was established in the 1970s to replace the old, centrally located market of Les Halles, which had become a logistical nightmare.

Much of the region is not scenic but if you visit and stay only in central Paris, you will miss a lot of beautiful, fascinating things to see. There are beautiful castles, museums, parks, forests and villages all around Paris and much is accessible by public transportation. I am easy to reach via my website and my rates are reasonable.

If you want to save money or stay for a long period of time, you must look outside of central Paris. I do not like the RER train system but find that all the other public transportation, such as bus, tramway, métro and certain other trains are good value for your money and quite safe. They can be daunting at first, however! I have lived here since 1994 and have a pretty good quality of life on a low budget. You can do it, too! It does take some research, planning and explanation, however. My spouse is Parisian and I have learned a lot from him over time. This is a fascinating place!
