An attack on a mosque in the occupied West Bank was left scorched and vanadalised with the words "the war has begun" scrawled on the wall in Hebrew.<br /><br />Locals accuse nearby Israeli settlers of the attack which took place on Monday night. The mosque is in an area where there are Israeli settlements near Palestinian villages.<br /><br />The Israeli supreme court has ruled that some buildings nearby are on private Palestinian land, and the settlers inside must leave.<br /><br />Some hard-liners from the Jewish community are furious, and are threatening to oppose the up-coming evacuations when troops arrive.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Jane Ferguson reports from the Occupied West Bank.
