This weekend in Singapore are the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards. This is more of an industry gathering than an awards ceremony, a huge event featuring all of the biggest and brightest in Bollywood that travels around the world and takes place in a different city every year. One of the great things about IIFA is that it often gives filmmakers a platform to share new material and preview trailers and such before huge crowds, such is the case with Kamal Hassan's Viswaroopam.

This is the film that Kamal Hassan has been trying to make for a number of years. It has gone through many hands, with Hassan eventually ending up in the director's chair. The first look we posted a few weeks back was nothing more than a picture of Hassan in a hoodie, but now we have a trailer, and it's much more exciting.

While I'm still not sure what the film is about, Viswaroopam appears to feature Kamal Hassan in three different roles. One is a terrorist, one a peaceful dance instructor (hilariously pictured in the poster), and the third possibly some kind of law enforcement official. I'm not really sure, but I do know that there is some serious looking action in this trailer, and Hassan's presence in the film is enough to have my interest.

Viswaroopam is currently scheduled to open on July 13th, but I'd take that with a grain of salt.
