A child is dead after a suspected gas explosion destroyed a house - and damaged several others - in northern England on Tuesday.<br/> <br />Officials said at least one person was injured - and treated for burns.<br/> <br />Anthony Brennan's house was damaged in the blast.<br/> <br />SOUNDBITE: Anthony Brennan, Resident<br/> <br />"Totally, every window came through, all the doors came off, half the roof, the same with my mate's house - half his house has totally disappeared. It's the same with the other one on the other end, totally gone."<br/> <br />Local media reported emergency workers continued to comb through the rubble - but did not expect to find any more casualties.<br/> <br />The cause of the blast - is under investigation.<br/> <br />Sarah Irwin, Reuters.
