TV9 - Beer bath on Pune-Bangalore national highway........!<br /><br />A truck carrying 700 crates of beer hit a stationary truck near Kalpanahalli about six km from here on the Pune-Bangalore national highway on Thursday morning.<br /><br />As beer bottles spilled on to the highway, news of the accident spread.<br /><br />People from nearby villages and those travelling in buses got down and carried away the unbroken booty. By the time the police arrived, the truck was almost empty, with only a few broken bottles remaining. The police, with the assistance of the village people, cleared the highway off debris. Vehicles were stranded for hours on the highway.<br /><br />Inspector (Rural) Jagadish told The Hindu that the loss may amount to Rs. 6 lakh. A case has been registered.
