4,000 kilograms of drugs confiscated by Thai authorities in the last year.<br/> <br />The ministry of public health incinerated the store, in a torching of confiscated narcotics that has taken place annually in Thailand since the 1960s.<br/> <br />This year's stock was worth nearly 222 million U.S. dollars, and came from more than a thousand drug cases that included methamphetamine pills, heroine, liquid codeine and opium.<br/> <br />According to Thai police, the drugs are mainly confiscated from the border regions.<br/> <br />Thailand's Ministry of Public Health said 81 percent of the country's 300,000 drug abusers this year were addicted to methamphetamine - with half aged seven to 24 years old.<br/> <br />Sarah Sheffer, Reuters
