Katie Holmes has filed for divorce from her superstar husband Tom Cruise, in New York City, a long-time attorney for Cruise said on Friday (June 29).<br/> <br />Holmes is reportedly seeking sole custody of their daughter, six year old Suri. The pair married in an elaborate ceremony in Italy in 2006.<br/> <br />Cruise, who turns 50 on July 3rd, has been among the world's highest-paid actors, with films ranging from 1983's "Risky Business" to the hugely successful "Mission: Impossible" series and currently playing musical "Rock of Ages."<br/> <br />He has been married twice before, first to actress Mimi Rogers and then to Nicole Kidman, with whom he has two children.<br/> <br />The 33 year old Holmes rose to fame on the U.S. television series "Dawson's Creek" and has worked in big-budget movies such as "Batman Begins."
