ROUGH CUT -- (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />Egypt's first freely elected president, Mohamed Mursi, takes the oath of office before the Supreme Constitutional Court Sunday.<br/> <br />The former Muslim Brotherhood leader beat Ahmed Shafik, an air force general who briefly served as prime minister under deposed dictator Hosni Mubarak, in a run-off election earlier this month.<br/> <br />In a defiant speech Friday, Mursi warned ruling generals about trying to curb his powers and promised a crowd gathered in Tahrir Square a "civil, nationalist, constitutional state."<br/> <br />He now takes on the challenges of improving a struggling economy and bringing stability to a country that has seen widespread unrest since the 2011 revolution that forced President Hosni Mubarak from office.
