Australia's coast guard has intercepted a record number of asylum seekers heading for its shores in the month of June.<br /><br />The current Labour-led government seems to be at a crossroads, however, over how to deal with a problem that has become a emotive issue in the country.<br /><br />Hundreds have died in recent months on their perilous journey for a better life.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Andrew Thomas reports from Sydney.
