ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />Heavy rains caused severe flooding in parts of western Japan on Tuesday (July 3), causing tens of thousands to be evacuated and leaving one person missing.<br/> <br />With rivers overflowing and breaking their banks, evacuation orders have been given for over 20,000 people, local media said.<br/> <br />Stores were flooded and residents faced water flowing through their doors and into their living rooms.<br/> <br />One elderly man went missing in the aftermath of the floods, and police said they suspect he might have been washed away by an overflowing river.<br/> <br />The heavy rains also caused landslides in some areas.<br/> <br />While the rains have abated for now, the area is expected to receive more heavy rains Tuesday evening with Japan's meteorological agency warning against more landslides and flooding.
