At least six people were killed and 15 others wounded in a string of car bomb attacks in the ethnically-mixed northern city of Kirkuk on Monday (July 23).<br/> <br />The first explosion targeted a police vehicle patrolling Te'ssin neighbourhood in central Kirkuk while other attacks targeted civilians.<br/> <br />The Kirkuk bombings were part of a wave of attacks on Monday that also included car bombs and suicide attacks that killed at least 50 people and wounded almost 150 others.<br/> <br />Last month at least 237 people were killed and 603 wounded in attacks, making it one of the bloodiest months since U.S. troops withdrew at the end of last year.
