Tens of thousands turned out at the National Mall in Washington to show their support for what was billed as a "Rally to Restore Sanity". <br /><br />TV comedians Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert hosted the event, aimed at taking some of the heat out of America's ill-tempered political climate.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Nick Spicer was there.
