Thousands of people have fled to neighbouring Thailand in a bid to escape grinding poverty and extremely harsh life under Myanmar's repressive military rule.<br /><br />Now many of them are being picked up and told they will be deported back to Myanmar.<br /><br />But the journey they are forced to embark upon has an unexpected, and often tragic, end.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Aela Callan reports from Ranong in southern Thailand.
