A Sri Lankan maid has claimed she was tortured by her Kuwaiti employers, who allegedly jammed 14 metal pins into her arms and legs after she asked for her wages. <br /><br />The pins were removed from Lechchmi's body in a hospital in the Sri Lankan city of Kurunegala after two long operations. <br /><br />The allegation is the latest in a series of abuse claims by Asian workers employed in the Arabian Gulf region. <br /><br />In August, another Sri Lankan housemaid returned to the country with 24 nails driven into her body, saying her Saudi employers were responsible. <br /><br />Al Jazeera's Minelle Fernandez reports from Kurunegala.<br /><br />[November 16, 2010]
