An international team of scientists has begun drilling deep below the Dead Sea.<br /><br />Seven countries are working together to discover what the region looked like 500,000 years ago, in a bid to reveal a unique insight into human migration and evolution in the region.<br /><br />The project will also examine sediment in the hope of predicting future natural disasters.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Tony Birtley reports from the Dead Sea.
