The army in south Sudan has pledged to demobilise all child soldiers by the end of the year ahead of January's referendum, which will determine the fate of the south.<br /><br />During the civil war, the rebel forces are said to have recruited thousands of children into special units known as the Red Army.<br /><br />There are an estimated 900 children carrying weapon for south Sudan. But army commanders have said they are moving to de-list all children from the service.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Haru Mutasa reports from southern Sudan.
