Supporters of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood, the country's largest opposition group, have staged huge rallies campaigning for Sunday's general elections, defying a strict ban on election campaigning by the group. <br /><br />Meanwhile, Egyptian courts have ordered the cancellation the vote in 24 districts in the city of Alexandria after the government ignored orders to reinstate opposition and independent candidates.<br /><br />The Muslim brotherhood is competing for a third of Egypt's parliamentary seats although it has been considered illegal for more than half a century. <br /><br />Jacky Rowland reports from the Egyptian city of Alexandria, where the group was founded. <br /><br />[November 27, 2010]
