The United Nations has appealed for emergency aid to help victims of flood-hit Sri Lanka.<br /><br />At least 38 people have lost their lives and many others are still missing.<br /><br />Crops have been severely damaged and thousands of people are now homesless.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Veronica Pedrosa reports from one of the worst hit districts.
