A congressional hearing into "radicalisation" of America's Muslims has led to widespread accusations of Islamophobia.<br /><br />The debate has led civil liberties groups and prominent Muslim Americans to raise concerns about religious intolerance in US politics.<br /><br />André Carson is one of two Muslims serving in the US Congress. Carson, the US Representative for Indiana's 7th congressional district, attended the House Committee on Homeland Security on Thursday.<br /><br />He told Al Jazeera that there are other more pressing threats to domestic security.
