Residents of Japan continue to struggle nearly a week after two natural disasters hit their country.<br /><br />Meanwhile, international organisations are helping Japan mobilise a massive relief effort.<br /><br />More than 5,600 people are confirmed dead and almost half a million have been displaced.<br /><br />And as survivors search for their loved ones, it is clear the country was not prepared for a disaster of this magnitude.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Steve Chao reports from Taro.
