Hatem Al Hodairy, a microbiologist, has volunteered to drive ambulances for the rebels in east Libya.<br /><br />The conditions are harrowing: Four other crews have been lost, some of them have been arrested and executed by forces loyal to longtime Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, Hodairy says.<br /><br />Lacking many basic medical supplies (reportedly looted by Gaddafi's troops) he and area doctors are doing their best to save wounded opposition fighters.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Hoda Abdel Hamid reports from eastern Libya.
