The Chinese government has broken its silence over the detention of the famed artist Ai Weiwei.<br /><br />The state news agency says he's under investigation for suspected "economic crimes". <br /><br />Ai was last seen trying to board a flight to Hong Kong on Sunday. He's one of many pro-reform activists the government has arrested in recent weeks.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Rob McBride reports from Hong Kong.
